So, in no particular order, let’s dive in!

Designing With Climate In Mind

This is a great podcast talking about current challenges while suggesting ways in which we can redesign the world to be a better place.

It even talks about the effects that COVID-19 will have on climate change and the importance of a green recovery. Since Designing With Climate In Mind has only recently come out, it’s very relevant right now.

Additionally, they have a variety of different guests coming on the show including architects, scientists, and innovators. The great thing about this is that you get a different perspective in each episode, giving you tips about what you can do for the environment

The presenter, Jon Khoo, explains throughout the podcast series how important it is that we reconnect to nature. We need to rethink the way we design our homes, our buildings, and our cities in general with the climate in mind.

If you are interested in sustainable design or climate design, have a listen to this podcast. I enjoyed it very much and I think you will too. Thinking of creative solutions is key.

Sustainable Design

Sustainable design is a relatively new podcast but one that I’m finding very interesting.

Right from the beginning, Anastasia Bachykala discusses interesting ideas and innovation opportunities in the sustainable design sector.

Her guests provide a deeper insight and tell you their story of their sustainable design journey.

As well as listening to thought-provoking discussions, she provides resources for you to look at to further educate yourself and learn more about this topic.

Wardrobe Crisis

If you are into sustainable fashion, you will love listening to this. Or perhaps you are on the other side of the spectrum where you want to dress more sustainably but simply don’t know where to start.

It covers a wide range of issues in the fast fashion industry.

She interviews people who are in the industry and have successfully made their own sustainable fashion businesses.

The fashion industry contributes to many of our environmental challenges including waste accumulation, plastic pollution, and climate change.

On Wardrobe Crisis, she takes on all of these topics in the hopes to inspire you to be a more conscious consumer. Not only that, but she also uncovers social problems and talks about excessive consumerism, ethics, and activism regarding fashion.

So sit back, enjoy and learn the dirty truth behind your clothes and what you can do about it.

Explore the Circular Economy

This must be one of the most popular podcasts about sustainable design.

If you not aware of what circular design is, then prepared to be blown away because it’s the solution to all our problems. I absolutely love the idea of circular design and the circular economy.

In this podcast, you will find out how we can redesign the world for a circular economy. Not the current linear one.

They also give you examples of cities and businesses that are already implementing these principles into their design. Explore the Circular Economy has plenty of episodes to listen to with each one getting better and better.

Conclusion

All of these are great to learn more about the climate crisis and how designers like you can make a difference. Whether that is in a company or as an entrepreneur, you have a choice. Stand up for what you believe in because your individual choices matter.

Always try to find fulfilling work, not the highest-paid work. Hopefully, these sustainable design podcasts will inspire you to use your talents in a way that will help the planet instead of destroying it. From now on, all design must become ethical and sustainable. There’s no way around that.
